Dr.
Mark H. Tompkins is a Podiatric Physician and Surgeon in San Antonio, TX. Following
graduation from Texas A & M University with a degree in Zoology (Pre-Med)
in 1982, Dr. Tompkins pursued a degree in podiatric medicine at the California
College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA. After an internship
at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, a surgical residency in
Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Tompkins went into group practice in the Pittsburgh area. He
returned home to San Antonio in 1997 to continue practicing Podiatric Medicine,
specializing in reconstructive foot/ankle surgery and Sports Medicine. He
is now considered one of San Antonio's most respected foot and ankle specialists.
His private practice is conveniently located on the northwest side of San Antonio. |

Tompkins also
holds the distinction of Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics,
Podiatric Medicine/Surgery Division at the University of Texas Health Science
Center. He is currently a consultant for Roger Solar's Run San Antonio, USAA
Health Services, and the
Oasis Adult Education Program. He has also held the honors of Vice President
of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in Pittsburgh, PA, member
of the residency training department at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Surgical
and Clinical Instructor at Tri-State Foot and Ankle Center in Pittsburgh, and
member of the Quality Assurance/Peer Review Department at Podiatry Hospital in
Pittsburgh. |

Dr. Tompkins was
recently elected President of the Board of Directors for
Slam Dunk for Life. He is a member of Texas A&M University (TAMU) Association
of Former Students Century Club, member of San Antonio Aggie Club, member of
Rotary International, San Antonio Chapter, member of the Make A Wish Foundation
and the 100 Club HEB-Multiple Sclerosis 150 Bike to the Beach. He is also
the team captain of his own sponsored team - The Foot Peddlers. Dr. Tompkins
was named Outstanding Clinician and Instructor in Advanced Surgery in Foot and
Ankle by the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2003-2004. He
has been named in Who's Who Among American Business Professionals, and is a Target
Member of the TAMU Vision 2000 Fund. Dr. Tompkins was an honor's graduate of
both TAMU and the California College of Podiatric Medicine, earning both athletic
and academic scholarships during his tenures. Dr. Tompkins has presented
professionally in various locations throughout the country and has authored in
numerous professional publications and journals. |
